Hi everyone! I have just joined the forum, just discovered it in fact, and this is my very first post! Can anybody tell me more information about the Love For Sale show that features extensively on the Boney M 'Greatest Hits' DVD? When was it broadcast and has it ever been available to buy?

As far as i know it came out in 1978 or 79 as a VHS Videotape in Germany. Sometimes you can buy it at Ebay for very high Prices. I had a VHS to DVD copy. Most of the Songs from TtHom & Love for Sale were played. Marcia is fabulous on Silent Lover & Take the Heat of me. I thought it was a recorded on one of there Russian Concert's. But at the Time VHS isn't so popular and the Sales were poor. So they stopped the Production of this Tape. I see the Show in 1978 in Germany when I was 15 from then on i was totaly mad about them until today....

The "Love For Sale" show was recorded in Hamburg in April 1977.
The recording was made so the TV-stations could buy the rights to broadcast the show. They actually didn't have to buy the complete show, they could buy 15 minutes if they only wanted 15 minutes or a track or two. The show didn't really sell until Boney M. hit the big time in 1978. That's how Farian has explained it.
The show was also released on VHS in U.K. in the early 80's. It featured a picture on the front cover from the "Oceans Of Fantasy" tour where they were wearing the "Oceans Of Fantasy" costumes.
It's a pity that Farian didn't allow them to sing all tracks with live vocals in this show, but it was due to the fact that it should be used for promotion. It would also have been nice if the music wasn't faded in the end of each track. Just think of how great the show could have been if it had been completely live? Think of the small clip there was of Marcia in the MDR special earlier of this year where she sang "Take The Heat Of Me" live.
Anyway I really love the response the get in the "Love For Sale" show when the bass-line to "Daddy Cool" begins.
Lange.

Thanks very much for your replies. I'm clearly going to learn a lot about Boney M being here, I'm so pleased I've joined! It's funny because when I was little I was a big fan of both ABBA and Boney M, yet I know practically everything there is to know about ABBA but almost nothing about the other group! Same goes for concerts, tv appearances, etc. - the only visual stuff of Boney M I've got is the Greatest Hits DVD, I can't actually remember Boney M appearing all that often here in Britain although I do remember them popping up on 'Top Of The Pops' every now and again...
