Incindentally l'm not sure that the Calendar Song is the most repetitive Boney M song anyway. What about Daddy Cool....
She's crazy like a fool, what about it Daddy Cool l'm Crazy like a fool, what about it Daddy Cool Daddy,Daddy Cool,Daddy,Daddy Cool Daddy,Daddy Cool,Daddy,Daddy,Cool ..... and again!
or the most boring of all....
Baby Do You Wanna Bump Do you do you wanna bump b-u-m-p, bump.
Not now thanks, l've got a head ache.
Stange to think that something so good could have come from such an awful song.

Oh yes, Richard, I forgot about that repetitive song completely- oops. But you're right- lyrically "Daddy" is not very demanding. Maybe I forgot about that because the production and the arrangement are so good. I still remember hearing the song for the first time and falling in love with Boney M. But I would like to know what others think of "Carnival". Good or bad ?

Can't argue with you there. Daddy Cool is a disco classic even with its boring lyrics. I think the backing tracks in those early hits are brilliant. Such wonderful instrumentation. l like 'Carnival is Over', but it was a bit twee and not very Boney M. They should have stuck to the thumping disco stuff, especially on singles.

I liked the fact that Boney M. did 'The Carnival Is Over' as it is one of my favourite songs. It is however, not the kind of thing that I wanted as a Boney M. single. The whole image thing then for them was awful. What we in Dublin would call 'bet down'! They had the appeal and appearance of George and Zippy's friends visiting the 'Rainbow' TV show (you UK folks know what I mean). They looked more like a bad folk group then International Super Stars. What was Farian thinking? They should have been taking more hallucinogenics
