LOL !!!!! Check out jpc.de to hear samples of the new ' Boney M. goes Club ' album - especially the thread title and ' Bee Bop a Lula ' !!!!! Still wondering why the delay on the album though ? Perhaps Frank is preparing some new sleeve notes . . . Attachments:

What the heck is 'Bee Bop a Lula'?! Who is singing it? Arent those 'new' club versions the same as on the '20th Century Hits' cd? They sound very familiar!!

Maybe Im an old fart but I also really object to the track 'Who The F**k is Wikileaks. Why tarnish the Boney M name with this crap when its not even them singing on it. Who is singing on it? I listen to music in the car with my daughter and would have to skip this track every time as I dont want her to hear it. The simple solution is to not buy it at all. This could have been a good project following in the wake of the huge success of Duck Sauce but as usuall Frank Farian has f***ked it up!

Unfortunately I think the Boney M. name was tarnished by Frank Farian a very long long time ago - yet I have to say ( and I take the point being made Richard ) I can't help but feel a bit of a giggle at this track.
You must remember when the Boneys were only new they immediately caused controversy with their album covers ( hardly suitable for young children ) and were ' pulled apart ' by critics over songs like ' Belfast ' !
The wikileaks track is throwaway and rubbish but still I can't help but feel the smile creep on my face when I hear it - a bit like the ' Obama ' song !
I HATED the track when it first came out but now I find it quite subversive ( including the video ) and Farian up to more than a little bit of tongue-in-cheek ( like the Boney M. records of old had always been ) with these releases.
It's not Boney M as we know it - yet strange enough it is at the same time . . .

yeah i guess you are right about those album covers! I am very disappointed though that most of those remixes are old ones repackaged. Frank Farian has always used controversy to get attention for his projects as you say.

I'm disappointed too at the overall package offered with this release. It's a budget offer at €8 so I suppose it's no surprise he is simply using rehashed mixes from ' 20th Century Hits '. The ' Boney M. Ultimate 2.0 ' is a bit better, but not much. I hope that Sony and Frank Farian may yet put something appropriate and respectful together as a proper Boney M. release in respect of the passing of Bobby Farrell. I live in hope !

I saw an act called 'La Bouche' listed on the 'Goes Club' cd who I have never heard of so I looked them up and cant help thinking that the songs 'Be My Lover' and 'Sweet Dreams' would suit Marcia's voice perfectly. Anyone agree?

Actually yes I agree now that you've mentioned it ! And does anyone else think that Marcia's 'Seasons ' chorus is very similar to ' Young Free and Single ' ? Or, knowing Farian and Co., The ' YFAS' is like ' Seasons ' !!?

The one good thing about this release is that it has made me look into the music of other Farian acts and am now enjoying listening to No Mercy and have just ordered La Bouche Greatest Hits. Wow did that girl have a voice!

Since Farian already worked a version of Everything But The Girl's ' Missing ' for No Mercy and since he already has the track, wouldn't it be great to bring Marcia and Liz ( maybe even Maizie ! ) into the studio. They could redo the vocals and release it as a Boney M. tribute to Bobby ?
Any comments ?

I honestly thought that something might happen with the three of them by way of a tribute to Bobby after they came together at the funeral. It seems however ( from what I hear) that the united front that they presented was yet another lie. I feel rather let down by them at the moment.

You got here something wrong, Richard. The three ladies came together to mourn over a friend and colleague. That was no reunion at all. Simply saying goodbye. What you saw was no lie. (read Marcia's note) They were no plans to reunite at that time. So why feeling like they let down fans? Fans should accept that their idols went on separate paths.. Yes there was talk about a reunion in the past.. and 3 out of 4 were in.. but one member was not interest for whatever reason. And that should be accepted.... but hope dies at last, right?

I agree with Daniel. It was very special for all of us to see Liz, Marcia and Maizie together at Bobby's funeral, but I don't see that making them 'obliged' to anything more than that. I think it's best to leave Boney M. as it was, a glorious, fantastic pop group of the past. I honestly think it would be hard to reproduce the magic they once had.

I agree with you both really. I was just disappointed with things that I bave read about the way the three were with each other at the funeral but I probably should just ignore second hand comments that may or not be accurate. I never expected a 'reunion'. I think too much water has gone under the bridge for that.
